Richard Burbidge
Principal Engineer, Intel Corporation

Richard has over 20 years of experience in the wireless industry, and is currently a Principal Engineer with Intel Corporation. He has been involved with the development of cellular standards since 1998, and has been a 3GPP delegate since its inception in 1999. Over this time he has contributed to 3 generations of cellular technology, firstly UMTS, then LTE, and now 3GPP’s emerging 5G technology. Having previously been vice chair from 2005 to 2009, he is currently the chairman of the 3GPP TSG RAN 2 committee that is responsible for the specification of the layer 2 and 3 radio interface protocols for UMTS, LTE and 5G.
