Access There are 3 international airports in Taiwan:

• Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
  The Taipei TTY Airport is the main gateway of Taiwan. It can be accessed via over 190 non-stop and direct flights from 56 major cities throughout the world. The carriers are Air Macau, Air New Zealand, Air Nippon, Angkor Airways, Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Eva Airways, Continental, Dragon Air, Japan Asia Airways, Korean Air, Far Eastern Air, Northwest, KLM, Malaysia Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, Palau Trans, Pacific Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Thai Airways, Transasia Airways, United Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.

• Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)
  Situated in Metropolitan Taipei, the Taipei International Airport is the hub of domestic air transportation. It is easily accessible from the town centers.

• Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
  Kaohsiung International Airport is an air transportation hub in southern Taiwan. It is located in the Siaogang District of Kaohsiung City near Kaohsiung Harbor and is 9 kilometers from the city center. An excellent airport access network is one of the airport's features, including taxi ranks, city buses, long distance coach services and the Kaohsiung MRT system. The carriers are AirAsia, Air Busan, Air Macau, China Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Dragon Air, EVA Air, Far Eastern Air Transport, Japan Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, Spring Airlines, TransAsia Airways, Tiger Air Taiwan, Vanilla Air, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Airlines.
  
  

Arrival at the International Airport

It is required to go through the following steps in order to enter Taiwan: “Please make sure you have a valid visa to enter Taiwan” Taiwan conducts onboard quarantine inspections after H1N1 novel influenza. All passengers will be walking through a fever screening station in order to measure passengers' body temperature for quarantine inspections by remote sensing. Disembarkation cards are required for non-citizens entering Taiwan. The cards will be either given by flight attendants or acquired at the counters close to passport checking booths of immigration entrance. After getting your luggage at baggage claim area, please proceed to pass through the "Nothing to Declare" counter if you have no restricted items with you.

Transport in KaohsiungMetro System (Kaohsiung Rapid Transit)
The KRT currently has two lines in operation. Tickets can be purchased at automatic-ticket machines in all KRT stations.
The KRT runs from 6 am to 12 midnight seven days a week. Smoking, eating, drinking or gum chewing are strictly prohibited on all KRT trains.

• Taxi
  Kaohsiung has a huge fleet of taxis. Charges are NT$85 for the first 1.5km and NT$5 for each additional 250 meters. An additional NT$5 is charged for every three minutes of waiting. All fares appear on the meter, except for a NT$10 charge for cabs dispatched by phone and for each piece of luggage placed in taxi trunk. Tips are not required.
• Taiwan High Speed Railway
  The THSR goes through 12 main stops along the western part of Taiwan at the moment.

• Railway
  Trains on the round-the-island rail network provide extremely convenient services. Tickets may be purchased three days in advance
• IPASS/Easy Card
  All registrant can use the IPASS or Easy Card for paying on Kaohsiung Rapid Transit, Kaohsiung Public Bus, Railway, Taipei Metro, Taipei Public Bus, and designated convenience stores.
  To use it for the first time, please ensure to add value at designated location such as the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Station or convenience stores carrying the 「 」or「 」 logo (7-ELEVEN, Family Mart, Hi-Life and OK Mart), and the minimum amount of value adding is NTD100.
